Prop Firm Simulator / Tradeify

Futures evaluation, your own rules

Practice a Tradeify evaluation before you buy one

BacktestingMax has no built-in Tradeify rule set, so you set it up yourself, which takes about a minute. Below are the Select and Growth evaluation rules as Tradeify publishes them, exactly what to type, and how closely the simulator can follow them.

Set up Tradeify Growth in BacktestingMax

Set it up in BacktestingMax

Type the rules in from scratch for Tradeify. A Tradeify evaluation floor never stops trailing, and that is exactly how a rule set typed from scratch behaves in BacktestingMax.

  1. Open a new session in prop firm challenge mode. The button on this page does that, and you land on the instrument step.
  2. Pick your instrument and dates. On step 4, "Set your challenge rules", you will see the rule fields.
  3. Leave the built-in firms alone and type the values listed here for your evaluation straight into the fields.
  4. Open "More rules" to set the max loss type and the best-day cap.
  5. Start the session and trade. The pass or fail, the retry on new dates and the saved result work exactly as they do for a built-in firm.

The one difference: with rules typed from scratch the trading day rolls at midnight UTC, which is 7:00 or 8:00 PM in New York, not at the futures session close. It only matters if you trade the evening session. For another account size, take the percentages from the table above.

Tradeify trailing drawdown: end of day, enforced in real time, and it never locks

Every Tradeify account uses an end-of-day trailing drawdown. On a 50K evaluation the floor opens at $48,000, $2,000 below your $50,000 starting balance, and it moves up only when a trading day closes at a new high.

It is enforced in real time. Tradeify is explicit that if your balance plus open profit and loss touches the floor at any moment, the account fails on the spot, and recovering before the close changes nothing. The simulator checks your equity against the floor at every replay step in the same way.

In an evaluation the floor never stops moving. Tradeify locks the drawdown only on funded accounts. So unlike firms that freeze the floor at your starting balance, the last stretch to $53,000 is traded with the floor still climbing behind you.

Select or Growth: two different tests

Select has no daily loss limit, a consistency rule at 40% of total profit, and a minimum of 3 trading days. No single day may be more than 40% of your total profit, which is why it cannot be passed in fewer than three days.

Growth can be passed in one day and has no consistency rule. In exchange it has a daily loss limit. At Tradeify that limit pauses trading for the rest of the day and does not fail the account. The amounts are in the table above.

The max loss is not the same either: compare the 100K and 150K rows of the two tables. Practice the one you intend to buy, with its own numbers.

Risk check: at 0.5% a trade ($250) on a 50K Tradeify Select, 8 full losses in a row reach the $2,000 max loss, and 6 winners at 2R reach the $3,000 target. Plain arithmetic from a fresh account. On the page you can change the account size and the risk.

What the simulator can follow

  • The profit target and the end-of-day trailing max loss, checked against live equity at every replay step
  • A floor that never stops trailing, as in a Tradeify evaluation
  • The minimum trading days: reach the target early and the simulator tells you how many days are still owed
  • A best-day warning at the consistency percentage, measured against total profit

What it does not cover

  • There is no built-in Tradeify rule set. You type the numbers in, so a typing mistake is yours to catch
  • The Growth daily loss limit only pauses the day at Tradeify. The simulator has no pause-only limit: leave the daily loss set to none, or enter it as a hard limit if you want stricter practice
  • The best-day rule warns you. At Tradeify you cannot pass Select until it is met. In the simulator a run that reaches the target still shows as passed, with the warning attached
  • Contract limits, the hedging rule and the funded stage are not simulated

Tradeify practice questions

Does BacktestingMax have a Tradeify preset?

No. Tradeify is not one of the built-in rule sets. You practice it by typing its rules in as your own, using the numbers on this page. Everything the simulator does for a built-in firm works the same way with your own rules: the target, the trailing max loss, the minimum days, the best-day warning and the pass or fail at the end.

Is the Tradeify drawdown intraday or end of day?

End of day. The floor moves only when a trading day closes at a new high. It is enforced in real time, though: your balance plus open profit and loss is checked against it all day, and touching it fails the account even if you would have recovered by the close.

Does the Tradeify drawdown lock?

Not in an evaluation. Tradeify states that the drawdown locks only on funded accounts. In an evaluation the floor keeps trailing your highest end-of-day balance all the way to the target.

Can I pass a Tradeify evaluation in one day?

Growth, yes: its minimum is one trading day and it has no consistency rule. Select, no: it needs at least 3 trading days, and no day may be more than 40% of your total profit.

Is there a free way to practice a Tradeify evaluation?

Prop firm mode, including your own rules, is free on every BacktestingMax plan. Futures data such as ES, NQ, CL and GC is part of Premium, so on the free plan you run the same rules on gold or forex. BacktestingMax is an independent simulator and is not connected to Tradeify.

Are these the current Tradeify rules?

They were read on Tradeify's own help centre on the date shown above the tables. Firms change their rules, sometimes with little notice, so confirm the numbers with Tradeify before you buy an evaluation.

Practice another prop firm

BacktestingMax is an independent trading simulator. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Tradeify. The name is used only to describe which published rules a practice session follows, and it belongs to its owner.

Hypothetical or simulated performance results have certain limitations. Unlike an actual performance record, simulated results do not represent actual trading. Also, since the trades have not been executed, the results may have under- or over-compensated for the impact, if any, of certain market factors, such as lack of liquidity. Simulated trading programs in general are also subject to the fact that they are designed with the benefit of hindsight. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profit or losses similar to those shown.
