Crypto evaluation
Practice the Breakout crypto evaluation with its real rules
Both Breakout 1-Step evaluations are built in: Classic and Pro. They are the simplest rule sets in BacktestingMax, with a static max loss, a daily loss, and no minimum days, time limit or consistency rule. The difficulty is in the numbers, not the small print.

Breakout drawdown: simple rules, a narrow margin
On a 25K Classic evaluation the max drawdown floor sits at $23,500, $1,500 below your starting balance. It is static: it never moves, whatever you make.
The daily loss is $750. Crypto never closes, so there is no session to end the day. Breakout rolls it at a fixed clock time instead, and the simulator uses the same one, 00:30 UTC. Weekends are trading days like any other.
The evaluation is passed at $27,500. There is no minimum number of trading days, no time limit and no consistency rule in the rules we carry.
The target is larger than the room you are given
Look at the two numbers side by side in the table. In both evaluations you are asked to make considerably more than you are ever allowed to be down, and the Pro version asks for the most with the least room. Nothing else about the rules is hard. That ratio is the whole test.
In a market that moves as far and as fast as crypto does, a loss allowance that small is a position sizing problem before it is a strategy problem. Replay is a cheap place to find the size at which a normal losing streak does not end the account.
Breakout also sells a Turbo evaluation with different numbers. It is not built in. If that is the one you bought, type its rules in as your own.
Risk check: at 0.5% a trade ($125) on a 25K Breakout Classic, 12 full losses in a row reach the $1,500 max loss, 6 in one day reach the $750 daily loss limit, and 10 winners at 2R reach the $2,500 target. Plain arithmetic from a fresh account. On the page you can change the account size and the risk.
What the simulator covers
- The 1-Step Classic and 1-Step Pro evaluations, for every account size from 5K to 200K
- A static max loss, checked against live equity at every replay step
- The daily loss measured from the previous day's close, with the day rolling at 00:30 UTC
- No minimum days, no time limit and no consistency rule, as in the real evaluations
What it does not cover
- Leverage caps and position limits are not enforced
- Replay charges no funding or swap, and no commission unless you set one
- The Turbo evaluation is not built in
- The funded stage and payouts are not simulated
Breakout practice questions
Is there a free way to practice the Breakout evaluation?
Prop firm mode is free on every BacktestingMax plan. Crypto pairs are part of Premium, so on the free plan you run the same rules on gold or forex. BacktestingMax is an independent simulator and is not connected to Breakout.
When does the trading day reset for a crypto evaluation?
At 00:30 UTC in the simulator, which is the rollover the Breakout rule sets carry. Crypto trades around the clock, so the daily loss needs a fixed time to reset, and using your local midnight instead would put trades in the wrong day.
What is the difference between Classic and Pro?
The numbers. Both are one-step evaluations with a static max loss and the same daily loss, but the profit target and the max loss differ. The two tables above show them side by side for every account size.
Is there a consistency rule or a minimum number of days?
Not in the rules we carry. There is no consistency rule, no minimum trading days and no time limit, and the simulator applies none.
Are these the current Breakout rules?
They were checked against Breakout's own published rules on the date shown above the tables. Confirm the numbers with Breakout before you buy an evaluation.

- How the simulator works
BacktestingMax is an independent trading simulator. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Breakout. The name is used only to describe which published rules a practice session follows, and it belongs to its owner.
Hypothetical or simulated performance results have certain limitations. Unlike an actual performance record, simulated results do not represent actual trading. Also, since the trades have not been executed, the results may have under- or over-compensated for the impact, if any, of certain market factors, such as lack of liquidity. Simulated trading programs in general are also subject to the fact that they are designed with the benefit of hindsight. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profit or losses similar to those shown.
