Futures evaluation

Practice the Earn2Trade Trader Career Path evaluation

Trader Career Path is Earn2Trade's own name for its main futures program, and the evaluation is its first stage. That evaluation stacks three loss rules on top of each other: an end-of-day trailing drawdown, a daily loss limit, and a best-day rule at 30% of your total profit. All three are built in for the 25K, 50K and 100K accounts.

The floor moves up only at the end of a trading day, off your highest closing balance. During the day it stands still, but your live equity, open trades included, is checked against it all day.

Earn2Trade drawdown, daily loss and best-day rule, working at once

On a 25K evaluation you start at $25,000 with the drawdown floor at $23,500, $1,500 below you. The floor moves up only when a trading day closes at a new high, and it stops moving once it reaches your starting balance of $25,000. Your live equity is checked against it all day.

On top of that sits a daily loss limit of $550. The simulator treats it as a hard stop: touch it and the attempt is over.

The ladder is not one percentage. The drawdown is a larger share of a 25K account than of a 100K one, so the same trading feels tighter as the account grows. The table above has each size. The evaluation is passed at $26,750.

The best-day rule sets the pace

No single day may be more than 30% of your total profit. Do the arithmetic and that means at least four profitable days, however well the first one goes. It is the slowest-and-steadiest rule set among the futures firms that are built in.

The simulator measures your best day the same way, against total profit, and warns you when one day is carrying too much of the run. It warns, it does not block: a run that reaches the target with a lopsided best day still shows as passed, with the warning attached.

A daily loss limit and a best-day cap together reward the same thing, which is small, repeatable days. If your edge comes from one or two big days a month, this is the evaluation that will tell you so.

Risk check: at 0.5% a trade ($125) on a 25K Earn2Trade TCP, 12 full losses in a row reach the $1,500 max loss, 5 in one day reach the $550 daily loss limit, and 7 winners at 2R reach the $1,750 target. Plain arithmetic from a fresh account. On the page you can change the account size and the risk.

What the simulator covers

  • Profit target, drawdown and daily loss limit for the 25K, 50K and 100K accounts, in the dollar amounts the firm quotes
  • The end-of-day trailing floor, checked against live equity and stopping at the starting balance
  • The daily loss limit as a hard stop, with the trading day rolling at 5:00 PM New York time
  • A best-day warning at 30% of total profit

What it does not cover

  • Earn2Trade's end-of-session cut-off time is not enforced. Positions are not closed for you
  • The contract progression ladder and contract limits are not enforced
  • News restrictions are not enforced
  • The funded stage and the career path after the evaluation are not simulated

Earn2Trade practice questions

Is there a free way to practice the Earn2Trade evaluation?

Prop firm mode is free on every BacktestingMax plan. Futures data such as ES, NQ, CL and GC is part of Premium, so on the free plan you run the same rules on gold or forex. BacktestingMax is an independent simulator and is not connected to Earn2Trade.

What is the Earn2Trade consistency rule?

In the rules we carry, no single day may be more than 30% of your total profit. The simulator measures it the same way and warns you when your best day goes over.

Is the drawdown intraday or end of day?

End of day. The floor moves only when a trading day closes at a new high, and it stops at your starting balance. Your live equity, open trades included, is still checked against it throughout the day.

Does the daily loss limit fail the evaluation?

In the simulator, yes: it is treated as a hard stop. If your firm only pauses you for the rest of the day, practice is a little stricter than the real thing, which is the right direction to be wrong in.

Are these the current Earn2Trade rules?

They were checked against Earn2Trade's own published rules on the date shown above the table. Confirm the numbers with Earn2Trade before you buy an evaluation.

Hypothetical or simulated performance results have certain limitations. Unlike an actual performance record, simulated results do not represent actual trading. Also, since the trades have not been executed, the results may have under- or over-compensated for the impact, if any, of certain market factors, such as lack of liquidity. Simulated trading programs in general are also subject to the fact that they are designed with the benefit of hindsight. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profit or losses similar to those shown.
