Prop Firm Simulator / Lucid Trading
Futures evaluation, your own rules
Practice a Lucid Trading evaluation before you buy one
BacktestingMax has no built-in Lucid Trading rule set, so you set it up yourself, which takes about a minute. Below are the LucidFlex and LucidPro evaluation rules as Lucid publishes them, exactly what to type, and how closely the simulator can follow them.

Set up LucidPro in BacktestingMax
Set it up in BacktestingMax
Start from Earn2Trade. It is the built-in rule set that behaves most like a Lucid evaluation: an end-of-day floor that stops moving at the starting balance, a trading day that rolls at 5:00 PM New York time, and a best day measured against total profit. Pick it, then overwrite its numbers with the ones below. The label changes to "Your own rules".
- Open a new session in prop firm challenge mode. The button on this page does that, and you land on the instrument step.
- Pick your instrument and dates. On step 4, "Set your challenge rules", you will see the rule fields.
- Open "Fill them from a real firm", choose the Futures tab and pick Earn2Trade. Then type over its numbers with the values listed here for your evaluation.
- Open "More rules" to set the max loss type and the best-day cap.
- Start the session and trade. The pass or fail, the retry on new dates and the saved result work exactly as they do for a built-in firm.
LucidFlex, $50,000 account
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Starting balance | $50,000 |
| Profit target | 6% ($3,000) |
| Max loss | 4% ($2,000) |
| Daily loss | Set to none |
| Min trading days | 0 |
| Max loss type | Trailing (end of day) |
| Best-day cap | 50% |
LucidPro, $50,000 account
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Starting balance | $50,000 |
| Profit target | 6% ($3,000) |
| Max loss | 4% ($2,000) |
| Daily loss | Set to none. The firm only pauses the day at $1,200 |
| Min trading days | 0 |
| Max loss type | Trailing (end of day) |
| Best-day cap | 0 (none) |
One small difference remains: Lucid stops the floor $100 above your starting balance, and the simulator stops it at the starting balance exactly. For another account size, take the percentages from the table above.
Lucid Trading drawdown: an end-of-day floor that stops just above your starting balance
LucidFlex and LucidPro both use an end-of-day drawdown. On a 50K evaluation the floor opens at $48,000, $2,000 below your $50,000 starting balance, and rises with your highest closing balance.
It stops rising once your balance has cleared the trail: Lucid then fixes the floor $100 above your starting balance, and it never moves again. From that point the distance between the floor and your balance is all yours.
The evaluation is passed at $53,000. There is no time limit. Lucid says to take as long as you need.
Flex or Pro: a best-day rule or a daily limit
LucidFlex has no daily loss limit and a 50% consistency rule: your largest single day divided by your total profit must be 50% or less before you can move to a funded account. If one day is too large you are not failed. You keep trading until it is back under the line. Lucid builds a small cushion into the number so the evaluation can be passed in two days.
LucidPro can be passed in one trading day. Instead of a consistency rule it has a daily loss limit on the larger accounts, and Lucid treats every daily loss limit as a soft breach: trading is restricted until the next session, and the account is not lost. The amounts are in the table above.
The profit targets and max loss amounts are the same in both. What changes is which habit is being tested, steady days or a controlled worst day. Practice the one you intend to buy.
Risk check: at 0.5% a trade ($250) on a 50K LucidFlex, 8 full losses in a row reach the $2,000 max loss, and 6 winners at 2R reach the $3,000 target. Plain arithmetic from a fresh account. On the page you can change the account size and the risk.
What the simulator can follow
- The profit target and the end-of-day trailing max loss, checked against live equity at every replay step
- A floor that stops moving at your starting balance, when you start from the Earn2Trade rule set as described above
- A trading day that rolls at 5:00 PM New York time, on the same condition
- A best-day warning at 50% of total profit for LucidFlex
What it does not cover
- There is no built-in Lucid rule set. You type the numbers in, so a typing mistake is yours to catch
- Lucid stops the floor $100 above the starting balance. The simulator stops it at the starting balance
- The LucidPro daily loss limit only pauses the day at Lucid. The simulator has no pause-only limit: leave the daily loss set to none, or enter it as a hard limit if you want stricter practice
- The best-day rule warns you. At Lucid you cannot move on until it is met. In the simulator a run that reaches the target still shows as passed, with the warning attached
- Contract limits, the consistency cushion and the funded stage are not simulated
Lucid Trading practice questions
Does BacktestingMax have a Lucid Trading preset?
No. Lucid Trading is not one of the built-in rule sets. You practice it by typing its rules in as your own, using the numbers on this page. Everything the simulator does for a built-in firm works the same way with your own rules: the target, the trailing max loss, the best-day warning and the pass or fail at the end.
Is the Lucid drawdown intraday or end of day?
End of day, on both LucidFlex and LucidPro. The floor is recalculated from your highest closing balance at the end of each session, and it stops rising once it is $100 above your starting balance.
How does the LucidFlex consistency rule work?
Your largest single day's profit divided by your total profit must be 50% or less. Going over does not fail the evaluation. You keep trading until your largest day is back under the limit. The rule applies in the evaluation only.
Does LucidFlex have a daily loss limit?
Not as standard. Lucid describes the LucidFlex evaluation as having no daily loss limit, with an optional one available at checkout. LucidPro has one on its larger accounts, and at Lucid it is a soft breach that pauses trading until the next session.
Is there a free way to practice a Lucid evaluation?
Prop firm mode, including your own rules, is free on every BacktestingMax plan. Futures data such as ES, NQ, CL and GC is part of Premium, so on the free plan you run the same rules on gold or forex. BacktestingMax is an independent simulator and is not connected to Lucid Trading.
Are these the current Lucid Trading rules?
They were read on Lucid Trading's own help centre on the date shown above the tables. Confirm the numbers with Lucid before you buy an evaluation.

BacktestingMax is an independent trading simulator. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Lucid Trading. The name is used only to describe which published rules a practice session follows, and it belongs to its owner.
Hypothetical or simulated performance results have certain limitations. Unlike an actual performance record, simulated results do not represent actual trading. Also, since the trades have not been executed, the results may have under- or over-compensated for the impact, if any, of certain market factors, such as lack of liquidity. Simulated trading programs in general are also subject to the fact that they are designed with the benefit of hindsight. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profit or losses similar to those shown.
