How the Take Profit Trader end-of-day drawdown moves
On a 50K evaluation you start at $50,000 with the floor at $48,000, $2,000 below you. The floor moves only when a trading day closes, and only upward, following your highest closing balance.
There is no daily loss limit, so nothing stops a bad day early except the floor itself. Your live equity is checked against it all day, open trades included. One session can take the full $2,000.
The floor stops moving once it reaches your starting balance of $50,000. The evaluation is passed at $53,000, once you have the minimum of 3 trading days.
What this rule set asks of you
No daily loss limit sounds generous. In practice it removes the circuit breaker. At firms with a daily limit a bad morning costs you the day. Here it can cost you the account, and the only thing standing in the way is your own stop.
The best-day rule pulls the other way. No single day may be 50% or more of the profit target, so one big day cannot finish the evaluation by itself. Between the two rules the evaluation rewards steady sizing across several days, which is exactly the thing worth rehearsing. The simulator warns you when one day is carrying too much of the run.
The minimum of 3 trading days is where replay helps most. In live time that is most of a week. In replay it is one sitting, and you can run it again on different dates straight away.
Risk check: at 0.5% a trade ($250) on a 50K TPT Eval, 8 full losses in a row reach the $2,000 max loss, and 6 winners at 2R reach the $3,000 target. Plain arithmetic from a fresh account. On the page you can change the account size and the risk.
What the simulator covers
- Profit target and drawdown for the 25K, 50K, 75K, 100K and 150K accounts, in the dollar amounts the firm quotes
- The end-of-day trailing floor, checked against live equity and stopping at the starting balance
- No daily loss limit, as in the real evaluation
- The minimum of 3 trading days: reach the target early and the simulator tells you how many days are still owed
- A best-day warning at 50% of the profit target
What it does not cover
- Contract limits are not enforced
- The point where the floor stops moving is inferred from the firm's buffer requirement. The firm does not state it outright
- Flat-by-close times and news restrictions are not enforced
- The funded stage is not simulated, only the evaluation
Take Profit Trader practice questions
Does Take Profit Trader have a daily loss limit?
Not in the evaluation rules we carry: the firm's own evaluation page shows the daily loss limit struck through. The simulator therefore applies none. The end-of-day trailing drawdown is the only loss rule.
How many days do I need to pass?
At least 3 trading days in the rules we carry. If you hit the profit target sooner, the simulator does not pass you early. It shows the target as met and tells you how many trading days are still required.
What is the consistency rule in the evaluation?
No single day may account for 50% or more of the profit target. It does not fail you, it means a single huge day is not enough. The simulator measures your best day the same way and warns you when it goes over.
Is there a free way to practice this evaluation?
Prop firm mode is free on every BacktestingMax plan. Futures data such as ES, NQ, CL and GC is part of Premium, so on the free plan you run the same rules on gold or forex. BacktestingMax is an independent simulator and is not connected to Take Profit Trader.
Are these the current rules?
They were checked against the firm's own published rules on the date shown above the table. Confirm the numbers with Take Profit Trader before you buy an evaluation.

BacktestingMax is an independent trading simulator. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Take Profit Trader. The name is used only to describe which published rules a practice session follows, and it belongs to its owner.
Hypothetical or simulated performance results have certain limitations. Unlike an actual performance record, simulated results do not represent actual trading. Also, since the trades have not been executed, the results may have under- or over-compensated for the impact, if any, of certain market factors, such as lack of liquidity. Simulated trading programs in general are also subject to the fact that they are designed with the benefit of hindsight. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profit or losses similar to those shown.
