Practice The5ers High Stakes challenge with its real rules

High Stakes is a two-step challenge with two rules most simulators get wrong. You need 3 profitable days, not a number of trading days, and the daily loss is measured from the higher of yesterday's closing equity or balance. Both are built in, and everything here runs on the free plan.

How The5ers High Stakes drawdown limits work

The High Stakes max drawdown is static. On a 10K account the floor sits at $9,000 for the whole step and never moves.

The daily loss is $500, and what makes it different is the starting point. The5ers measures it down from the higher of your closing equity or your closing balance on the previous day. Whichever is higher is the stricter one for you: open profit at the close raises the bar you are measured from, and an open loss at the close is already counted against the new day.

Step 1 is passed at $11,000, provided you have 3 profitable days. There is no time limit.

Profitable days are not trading days

Most firms ask for a number of days on which you traded. The5ers asks for 3 days on which you made money, and each has to be worth at least 0.5% of the starting balance, which is $50 on a 10K account. A day of tiny scratch trades does not count.

The simulator counts profitable days the same way. Reach the target without them and you are told how many are still owed, instead of being passed.

With no time limit, the pressure in High Stakes comes from the loss limits alone. That suits patient trading, and it is worth finding out in replay whether patience is actually how you trade once a target is in sight.

Risk check: at 0.5% a trade ($50) on a 10K The5ers Step 1, 20 full losses in a row reach the $1,000 max loss, 10 in one day reach the $500 daily loss limit, and 10 winners at 2R reach the $1,000 target. Plain arithmetic from a fresh account. On the page you can change the account size and the risk.

What the simulator covers

  • Step 1 and Step 2 of High Stakes, for every account size from 2.5K to 100K
  • A static max loss, checked against live equity at every replay step
  • The daily loss measured from the higher of the previous day's closing equity or balance, resetting at midnight Central European time
  • 3 profitable days, each worth at least 0.5% of the starting balance

What it does not cover

  • News trading restrictions and weekend holding rules are not enforced
  • Moving from Step 1 to Step 2 is not automatic. They are two rule sets, and you start the second one yourself
  • The5ers' other programs, Bootcamp and Hyper Growth, are not built in. Type their rules in as your own
  • The funded stage, scaling and payouts are not simulated

The5ers practice questions

Is there a free way to practice The5ers challenge?

Yes. Prop firm mode is free on every BacktestingMax plan, and forex and metals, gold included, are free instruments. The free plan covers the last 12 months of history. BacktestingMax is an independent simulator and is not connected to The5ers.

What counts as a profitable day?

In the rules we carry, a day whose closed profit is at least 0.5% of the starting balance. You need 3 of them in each step. The simulator counts them the same way and tells you how many are still owed when you reach the target early.

How is the High Stakes daily loss measured?

From the higher of your closing equity or closing balance on the previous day, down by 5% of the starting balance. The simulator uses the same starting point, so open profit or loss at the rollover is treated the way The5ers treats it.

Is there a time limit?

Not in the rules we carry. The steps have no time limit, and the simulator applies none.

Are these the current The5ers rules?

They were checked against The5ers' own published rules on the date shown above the tables. Confirm the numbers with The5ers before you buy a challenge.

Hypothetical or simulated performance results have certain limitations. Unlike an actual performance record, simulated results do not represent actual trading. Also, since the trades have not been executed, the results may have under- or over-compensated for the impact, if any, of certain market factors, such as lack of liquidity. Simulated trading programs in general are also subject to the fact that they are designed with the benefit of hindsight. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profit or losses similar to those shown.
