Futures evaluation, your own rules

Practice a MyFundedFutures Rapid evaluation before you buy one

BacktestingMax has no built-in MyFundedFutures (MFFU) rule set, so you set it up yourself, which takes about a minute. Below are the Rapid evaluation rules as the firm publishes them, exactly what to type, and one thing worth rehearsing that most people only meet after they pass.

  • Max loss type: Trailing, end of day
  • Floor stops moving: Not stated by the firm for the evaluation
  • Trading day resets: 5:00 PM New York time
  • Minimum trading days: 2
  • Time limit: None
  • Best day (consistency): Under 50% of your total profit

The floor moves up only at the end of a trading day, off your highest closing balance. During the day it stands still, but your live equity, open trades included, is checked against it all day.

Set up MFFU Rapid in BacktestingMax

Set it up in BacktestingMax

Type the rules in from scratch. The firm does not say whether the evaluation floor ever stops moving, and rules typed from scratch keep it trailing, which is the stricter of the two readings.

  1. Open a new session in prop firm challenge mode. The button on this page does that, and you land on the instrument step.
  2. Pick your instrument and dates. On step 4, "Set your challenge rules", you will see the rule fields.
  3. Leave the built-in firms alone and type the values listed here for your evaluation straight into the fields.
  4. Open "More rules" to set the max loss type and the best-day cap.
  5. Start the session and trade. The pass or fail, the retry on new dates and the saved result work exactly as they do for a built-in firm.

With rules typed from scratch the trading day rolls at midnight UTC, which is 7:00 or 8:00 PM in New York, not at the futures session close. It only matters if you trade the evening session. For another account size, take the percentages from the table above.

MyFundedFutures drawdown: end of day in the evaluation, intraday once you are funded

In the Rapid evaluation the Maximum Loss Limit is end of day. On a 50K account the floor opens at $48,000, $2,000 below your $50,000 starting balance, and it rises with your closing balance. There is no daily loss limit.

The evaluation is passed at $53,000, with at least 2 trading days and the consistency rule met.

Then the rule changes. On the Rapid sim funded account the firm switches to an intraday trailing drawdown that follows your equity high-water mark during the day, open profit included, until it locks. A trader who passed by letting winners breathe is now measured by a floor that follows every tick of open profit.

Rehearse the funded rules before they are real

This is the most useful thing a simulator can do for this firm. Run the evaluation with the max loss type set to end of day, as in the table. Then run the same account again with the max loss type set to intraday trailing, and watch what happens to the trades you would normally hold through a pullback.

The consistency rule is 50%: no single day may be more than 50% of your total evaluation profit. Going over does not breach the account. The firm says you simply trade additional days until it is met, and it applies to the evaluation only.

MyFundedFutures sells other plans with different numbers, among them a Rapid end-of-day plan and a Builder plan. They are not covered on this page. Set them up the same way, with their own numbers.

Risk check: at 0.5% a trade ($250) on a 50K MFFU Rapid, 8 full losses in a row reach the $2,000 max loss, and 6 winners at 2R reach the $3,000 target. Plain arithmetic from a fresh account. On the page you can change the account size and the risk.

What the simulator can follow

  • The profit target and the end-of-day max loss, checked against live equity at every replay step
  • The minimum of 2 trading days: reach the target early and the simulator tells you how many days are still owed
  • A best-day warning at 50% of total profit
  • An intraday trailing max loss, for rehearsing the funded account: choose it as the max loss type

What it does not cover

  • There is no built-in MyFundedFutures rule set. You type the numbers in, so a typing mistake is yours to catch
  • The firm does not state whether the evaluation floor stops moving. With rules typed from scratch it keeps trailing, which is the stricter reading
  • The best-day rule warns you. At the firm you trade on until it is met. In the simulator a run that reaches the target still shows as passed, with the warning attached
  • Contract limits, news rules on the funded account, the payout buffer and payouts are not simulated

MyFundedFutures practice questions

Does BacktestingMax have a MyFundedFutures preset?

No. MyFundedFutures is not one of the built-in rule sets. You practice it by typing its rules in as your own, using the numbers on this page. Everything the simulator does for a built-in firm works the same way with your own rules.

Is the MyFundedFutures drawdown intraday or end of day?

Both, at different stages of the Rapid plan. The evaluation uses an end-of-day Maximum Loss Limit. The sim funded account uses an intraday trailing drawdown that follows your equity high-water mark. They are worth practicing separately.

How does the consistency rule work?

In the Rapid evaluation no single day may be more than 50% of your total evaluation profit. The firm states that going over does not breach the account: you trade additional days until it is met. It applies to the evaluation only.

How many days does the Rapid evaluation take?

At least 2 trading days, according to the firm's help centre. If you reach the target sooner in the simulator, it shows the target as met and tells you how many days are still owed.

Is there a free way to practice this evaluation?

Prop firm mode, including your own rules, is free on every BacktestingMax plan. Futures data such as ES, NQ, CL and GC is part of Premium, so on the free plan you run the same rules on gold or forex. BacktestingMax is an independent simulator and is not connected to MyFundedFutures.

Are these the current rules?

They were read on the MyFundedFutures help centre on the date shown above the table. Confirm the numbers with the firm before you buy an evaluation.

Hypothetical or simulated performance results have certain limitations. Unlike an actual performance record, simulated results do not represent actual trading. Also, since the trades have not been executed, the results may have under- or over-compensated for the impact, if any, of certain market factors, such as lack of liquidity. Simulated trading programs in general are also subject to the fact that they are designed with the benefit of hindsight. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profit or losses similar to those shown.
